Outdoor Deficit Disorder

Recently Ion Exchange’s staff of Julie, Mary and Linda traveled to Elgin’s Valley school for their 5th Outdoor Extravaganza to enlighten 200 children. The children got the opportunity to learn about nature and outdoor activities. Ion Exchange, Inc. helps to eliminate “Outdoor Deficit Disorder” and get kids out of doors to experience nature.

Howard Bright, President of Ion Exchange, Inc. said, “By teaching children how to plant native plants, they can directly interact with the natural world and are able to create their own natural beauty. Nature provides the perfect classroom for eliminating “Attention Deficit Disorder” which is directly related to “Outdoor Deficit Disorder”. I believe children should experience some of the same experiences that I had as a child…sitting on the north side of a giant oak tree on a carpet of green moss and smelling the misty earth beneath me.”
